Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDNA LOUISE WATSON Following a brief illness, Edna died at St. Boniface General Hospital on December 26, 2004. Edna was born in Winnipeg on October 5, 1949, daughter of the late Ronald Watson and Winifred (nee Sandell). She was also predeceased by her stepmother, Betty. Edna is survived by her sister, Mavis Whicker (Allan), her niece Pam Gordon (Ken), their children Ewan and Chelsea and her niece Jennifer Engbrecht (Kurt) and their son, Kieran. She is also survived by her stepbrother and sister-in-law, John and Evie Tanner, their family and her dear friend Margaret Harvey of Calgary. Edna worked as a lab technologist in the health sciences field in Ottawa, Edmonton and, most recently at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. It was a profession she loved, engaging her passion for medicine, science and people. Edna loved music of all genres. She was a joyous and active participant in the Spirits Call Choir; her voice will be missed in the music and lives of all who knew her. She enjoyed movies and theatre, books, the outdoors, had a passion for the scientific and the artistic. She loved the ballet, the visual arts, flowers and poetry. We're grateful to the staff of St. Boniface General Hospital 7A West and the Palliative Care Unit. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service in Edna's memory will be held at The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, 603 Wellington Cres. at Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, with Rev. Susan Van Dreser officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amnesty International - Canadian Section, 312 Laurier Ave. East, Ottawa, ON KIN 1H9 or a charity of your choice.
