ABRAM (ABE) KROEKER March 21, 1926 - December 28, 2004 On Tuesday, December 28 our dear Abram was called back home to our Lord. A loving husband, father, Opa and brother, the way Abe led his life was testimony to how Jesus wishes us to care and love one another. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Linde; children, Harrald (Lorri) and Inge (Dan); grandchildren, Megan, Whitney, Spencer and Alex; brothers and sisters, Katerina Kroeker, Agathe Peters, Jacob Kroeker (Anni), Henry Kroeker (Kathe), Maria Regier (Peter), Aenny Hamm (Hans) and Susanne Loewen (Peter); and many loving nephews, nieces, and our extended family, the Pryduns. He joins in Heaven his parents Abram and Agathe (nee Loewen) and brother Hans. Abe began his life March 21, 1926 in Neuendorf, Ukraine, fourth of nine children. Abe and Linda were married 56 years ago in Austria. They re-connected with Abe's family in Winnipeg in 1956, his friends, brothers and sisters were scattered after The Second World War. He made a career working at Bell Foundry where he earned the respect of all who worked with him. He was an integral member of Douglas Mennonite Church where he willingly carried out the Lord's work with utmost sincerity. He was such a good husband, very caring, humble and trustworthy. As a dad and Opa, there was no one more devoted to his children and grandchildren. One only needs to look at his son Harrald, daughter Inge and his grandkids to understand how influential his unconditional love and guidance has been. His love toward children was neverending, as he spent many moments caring for young ones at the church during the Morning Out program. As we reflect on our Opa's life, we remember him at his favourite place at their Lester Beach cottage, helping out his neighbours, planting flowers and tending to his prized tomatoes. When I look at the world, I see only good. Mom and me are very thankful for all we have. We praise the Lord every day. - Opa, 2000. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2005 at Douglas Mennonite Church, 1517 Rothesay St. Pastors Don Rempel Boschman and James Schellenberg will be officiating. Interment to follow in the Mennonite Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to all the nurses on Ward 3 and to Dr. Lage for their caring, compassion and kindness. Should friends desire, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Dr., R3T 5K9 or CancerCare Manitoba, ON 109-675 McDermot Ave., R3E 0V9. I just wanted to say what a very friendly man Abram Kroeker was. Whenever we saw him at the Alpine Pavilion at Folklorama he made a point of coming and saying Hi to my husband and myself and especially our children. I was saddened to hear of your loss. - Posted by: Lori Klassen (nee Kroeker) (Family) on: Jan 03, 2005
