WILFRED FONTAINE Peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2004 Wilfred passed away at the Pine Falls Hospital, surrounded by his family at the age of 77 years. Wilfred will be missed by his daughters, Sharon Johnston (Jack), Wendy Cheverfils (Paul), Betsy; sons, George (Rita), Barry, Carey (friend Simah), Victor; and by his grandchildren, Roberta Desautels (Dave), Clayton, Steven, Karla Lavoie (Lance), Jan, Amanda, Nicole, Katherine, Jennifer, Lisa, Tomas, Tyler, Colton, Ethan, Robin, Alexandra; by his great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ashlynn, Chloe. Also surviving is his sister Margaret Courchene; brothers, Edward Joseph Fontaine (Victoria) and Howard Fontaine (Aline); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Alfred was predeceased by his wife Norma in 1987 and by an infant daughter Merlene; sisters, Delarose and Dorothy; and his brothers, Arthur, Felix and Norbert. Wilfred worked with his father and brothers in the logging bush camp. He later worked for the Pine Falls Townsite. In later years he worked in the paper mill located in Pine Falls for 22 years and retired in 1987. After retirement with the paper mill he worked for the Virginia Fontaine Addiction Foundation for 4 years in Sagkeeng. Wilfred was born in Sagkeeng and resided there throughout all of his life. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Oelofse of Pine Falls and Dr. Houston of the CancerCare Manitoba and to the nurses and ambulance attendants of the Pine Falls Hospital. Prayers and wake will be held at Wilfred's home in Sagkeeng beginning Sunday, January 2, 2005. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 4 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Alexander RC Church, Ft. Alexander, MB. Honorary pallbearers will be Roberta Desautels, Tomas Fontaine, Tyler Fontaine, Katherine Fontaine, Amanda Fontaine and Cherie Fontaine. Pallbearers will be Steven Johnston, Clayton Fontaine, Dave Desautel, Gislaine Levesque, Floyd Simard and Norbert Fontaine. If friends so desire memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB. RUSSELL'S of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements.   • Not a day goes by I don't think of u I miss ur stories that U told so well everyone would believe every word that came with out of you ur mouth.. I still visit ur grave but it's not the same.. There's no one there too put his arm around me n tell me about the rhinos and giraffes u saw as a kid on our way to lil black riva.. My best memories are of the stories u told we called em mooks..
