FRANK KRYSKO January 6, 1919 - December 31, 2004 Frank Krysko passed away peacefully on Friday, December 31, 2004 at River East Nursing Home at the age of 85, with his family at his side. Frank was born January 6, 1919 in Prawda, son of Joseph and Nettie Krysko. He was the third oldest child of ten children. His family resided on the farm in Prawda, MB. He attended Birch River School up to grade 5. Then he worked on the farm, until he was called to the army in 1939 where he served in the Medical Core until the end of the war. After the war, Frank went to Toronto and worked as a baker at Christies Bakery for 25 years. After his retirement, he loved to travel to Mexico, Portugal and to the Dominican Republic. Frank loved to fish, go see the horse races and do a little gardening. In 1987 Frank married Mary Truba, where he bought a trailer at Birch River and they spent their summers there. On May 13, 2002, Frank had a massive stroke, spent five months in Concordia Hospital, then transferred to River East Personal Care Home, where he passed away. He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary; three brothers, Nick (Ann), Henry (Hazel) of Toronto, Mike (Jean) of Winnipeg; four sisters, Ann Zalitach, Stella (Pete) Olynick, Kay Wright of Toronto, Jean (Harry) Shinkarek of Saskatoon; sister-in-law Julie; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends. Frank was predeceased by his father Joseph in 1971; mother Nettie in 1976; sister Mary Majcharowski in 1995; brother John in 1975 and three brothers-in-law, Tommy, Bill and Buddy. Our sincere thanks to all who took care of Frank especially the staff on wing C at River East Personal Care Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with Rev. Fr. Darren Kawiuk officiating and Deacon Victor Humniski. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Gardens at 4000 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be Fred Krysko, Jerry Zalitach, Darren Zalitach, Jamie Zalitach, Ray Basarowich and Teddy Krysko.
