Date of Passing: Dec 31, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE IONE ALLEN Peacefully, on Friday, December 31, 2004, at the Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home, Ione Allen passed away at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her daughters, Dawne Summersfield and Joan Miller (Doug); as well as her two treasured grandchildren, Amber and Greg Miller. Ione was predeceased by her husband Gordon, who she missed terribly. All her life, Ione lived in Saskatchewan and latterly in Manitoba. While she loved to travel with her husband, Gordon and spend many winters in Hawaii and Florida, the prairies were home. She was a spirited woman with a wonderful sense of humour who enjoyed the company of their many good friends throughout Canada and the United States. Ione was born in Francis, SK. She spent much of her married life in Saskatoon and most of her summers at Carlyle Lake, SK, where she had many cherished friends. Through her curling and bridge in Saskatoon, she developed lifelong friendships. In her later years, Ione was stricken with Alzheimer's Disease, but still maintained her sense of humour and spirit. A private family funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to all the staff at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home, who were so kind and compassionate, not only with Ione, but also with her family. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so desire, may make a donation in Ione's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba Inc., Unit 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
