JAMES N. SMITH Peacefully, on December 29, 2004 Jim passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital with his loving family at his side. Jim is survived by his loving wife Margaret; daughters, Shelley and Kimberley (Stephen); grandson Dakota; father-in-law Leslie Dodds (Frieda); sisters-in-law, Shirley Smith and Joan Spenceley (Ken); along with many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents, George and Margaret; brothers, Ross and Donald; sisters, Jean and Mae; mother-in-law Catherine Dodds; sisters-in-law, Iris and Lynne; brothers-in-law, Bob Simpson, Bill Bunston and George Stewart. Jim grew up in Elmwood and later moved to East Kildonan. He spent his whole career in the electrical industry; Jim along with Stan Pilek owned Park Electric for many years. Family was important to Jim, he always enjoyed spending time at the Smith Family gatherings and with Margaret's family in British Columbia. He enjoyed weekends at the cottage at Lee River and Belair. Margaret and Jim loved taking winter vacations, one of their favourite places was Hawaii. Pa and his little buddy Dakota loved being together especially playing cars and doing puzzles. Jim was known for his wonderful sense of humour and his happy go lucky attitude. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Jamie Boyd and the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital and Dr. J. Lezack and the staff of the Oncology Department for their dedicated and compassionate care.
