Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELENE DE WIT (nee KENNEDY) Peacefully, on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Helene Grace de Wit (nee Kennedy) passed away. She was born on November 2, 1933 in Winnipeg, MB. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sandy (Colin) and Tricia (Darren); grandchildren, Daniel, David (Carly) and Risa Peterson and Lauren and Jenna Wittmann; sister-in-law Trudy (Harry) Darichuk; many nieces and nephews and their children; and several close friends. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2000, her sister Sheila Brown, her mother Yvonne Pickwell and her father Gordon Kennedy. She will be remembered as a loving and supportive mother and grandmother with a strong sense of family. She had an interest in genealogy and was proud of her United Empire Loyalist roots. In earlier years she was active in CGIT, Brownies, Girl Guides, Camp Bel-Air, CNIB and Grey Street United Church. At Helene's request, cremation has taken place and a service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, January 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Grey Street United Church, 651 Sandhurst Ave. (at Grey Street). The family would like to thank her close friends and the staff at SOGH for their care and support during her illness. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of one's choice. Doyle's Funeral Chapel of Carman in care of arrangements.
