Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARTURO MARCO STRAPPAZZON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arturo Strappazzon, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, peacefully on January 1, 2005 at home with his family by his side. Art was predeceased by his parents Pietro and Regina and his daughter-in-law, Nancy Strappazzon (nee Kudding). Art will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Natalina Jeannette ; son Edoardo; granddaughter LeeAnn Polusny (Mike Pater); daughter Milva; and son-in-law Keith Dickson. He also leaves to mourn his family in Italy, sisters; Giovannina (Salvatore), Marcolina (Lucio), Maria (Renzo); brother Angelino (Lucilla); sisters-in-law Delfina (Bruno), Ivette, Dina (Silvano); special cousin Joseph Bepi (Fernanda); nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Arturo was born in S. Vito D'Arsie, Belluno, Italy on August 19, 1931. He immigrated to Canada in 1955, living a short while in Nova Scotia before settling in Winnipeg. He was joined by his wife in 1959 where they were married and celebrated 45 years together. Before arriving in Canada he served in the Italian Army and continued his association with the Gruppo Alpini in Winnipeg. He worked for over 30 years in electrical apparatus repair with King's Electric Motors before retiring in 1996. An honorary member of the Sportsmen Game and Fish Association, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, adding to his collection of master angler awards at every opportunity (rain or shine) but more importantly enjoying good laughs and making fond memories with family and close friends. He also had a love of gardening, spending countless hours working and tending to his flowers, vegetables and grape vines. He will be remembered always as a generous and giving man. Unselfishly offering his time and skills in whatever capacity he was able. Whether it be volunteering his time with the church bingo or helping a neighbour or friend in need. During your battle with cancer, you lived each day to the fullest. Showing us that your love of family and life were never put on hold. Your strength and guidance will always be remembered and cherished in our hearts. The family would like to thank all those who showed support and concern for dad during his battle with cancer. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. C. Duerksen, Dr. A. Maksymiuk, Dr. Daeninck and to the nurses of the Palliative Care Home Team for the wonderful care and compassion they showed to our dad. Special thanks to Gwen J. whose visits would bring a smile to dad's face no matter how he felt. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Parish, 300 Donalda Ave., with close family friend Fr. Bill Bernard presiding. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation. During one of Dad's chemotherapy treatments he was especially moved by the courage of the young children undergoing treatments - it would be his wish to support such a cause.
