Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILLIE KINN Emilia Irena Bobiy, born on May 17, 1910 in Kalush, Ukraine passed away peacefully on December 25, 2004. She was the second child of Peter Bobiy and Wilhelmina, nee Jacob. Her sister Jean Horrocks and brother, Ernest Bobiy predeceased her. She is survived by one sister, Hilda Schramm of Summerland, BC. Millie spent her childhood in Europe before coming to Canada with her family in 1925. They lived in Saskatchewan, mainly around Melville, surrounded by the large extended family of her mother. In the early 30s, Millie moved to Winnipeg where she worked as forelady, accountant and dressmaker for Louis Gutkin. She acquired a wealth of wonderful friends over the years. In 1940, she met John Kinn, who became her husband in 1947. John passed away in November 1977. Their marriage was blessed by one daughter, Erika and one granddaughter, Amy-Cumba who will miss Mom and Omi deeply. Millie leaves to mourn also four nieces, Carol, Kathryn, Ruth and Linda; two nephews, Jack and David; many cousins and dear friends. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook St. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 7 at Bardal Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Jacob officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Geist Sr., Ron Geist, Souleymane Diallo, Nathan Jacob, Dr. Mohamed Mohamud and Claudio Sinosich. Interment Brookside Cemetery. We wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for all the care and kindness Millie received while she lived there. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Red Cross Relief for the victims of the Tsunami in Asia. Millie's life philosophy is contained in the poem below. I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, kindness that I can show, to any human being, let me do it now.
