MARNIE VERNER COMBE 1923 - 2005 Marnie passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at the age of 81 years. She was born in Winnipeg, MB on August 24, 1923. On February 10, 1945 she married Joe her childhood sweetheart. Soon after they moved to Lethbridge, AB and then to Calgary, AB where they raised their four children. Marnie was an avid lover of sports, enjoyed volunteering and travelled often. She will be remembered as a selfless, loving spirit. Marnie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Peter (Marilyn) Combe, Jodie (Dale) Grover, Vickie (Doug) Horbul, Kelly Combe (Dan Geddes); 11 grandchildren and 5.8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Norma-Jane and her brother Rich as well as numerous relatives and friends, she will forever be in our hearts. Marnie was predeceased by her husband Joe, brother Jack, grandson Garrett and sister-in-law Pattie. Memorial service will be held at Sr. David's United Church, 3303 Capitol Hill Cres. N.W., Calgary on Friday, January 7 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at a later date. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation for the wonderful care provided by Marnie's Angels (Caregivers), Scenic Acres Retirement Staff, the Palliative Home Care Team and Dr. Ken Cody. In lieu of flowers a memorial tribute may be made in Marnie's memory to Calgary Health Trust, in care of Palliative Home Care, 10101 Southport Rd.
