DAVID RONALD STEWART On New Year's Day, Saturday, January 1, 2005, David was called home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Beverley; his sons, Nolan, Peter and David; his father Norman; his sister Joan (Joseph) and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He joins in Heaven, his dear mother, Janet; brother Douglas and friends, Ken Voth, Terry Schjerning and Ken Hull. David was born in Winnipeg on October 25, 1947 to parents, Norman and Janet Stewart. He spent his early years in and out of hospital with numerous surgeries due to his rare bone condition. At the West End Gospel Hall he was grounded in the word of God. David made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as a teenager and in his early 20's he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and understood the amazing love of God. Despite his disability, David had a stubborn determination to live a normal life and accomplished much. In the late 1960's he had his own company driving children to nursery school. From 1970 to 1973 he drove a bus for Mini-School and from 1974 to 1977 he was an electrical component assembler at Flyer Bus Industries. In 1977 David fell in love and married Bev Gray. Willard Thiessen of It's a New Day performed the ceremony in Portage la Prairie. In 1978 David graduated from Red River Community College with a certificate in watch repair and worked at Garland Wilson Jewellers in Portage. In 1980 he began a rewarding career at Standard Aero as an aircraft technician. Because of constant pain due to osteoarthritis, David went on pension in 1990. David enjoyed camping and boating at West Hawk Lake, going out for coffee with friends and spending time with his family. He made Springs of Living Water his home church and especially enjoyed the teachings of Pastor Leon Fontaine. Funeral service will be held at the Springs of Living Water Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. on Friday, January 7 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Pallbearers are Nolan Stewart, Peter Stewart, John David Bowman, Joseph Bowman and Stephen Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Smith, David Wilson and Nick Luik. Donations may be made in David's memory to a charity of one's choice. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Matt. 6:33 LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
