ANNE WEINSTEIN (NARVEY) (nee TEPLITSKY) April 24, 1914 - December 29, 2004 After a brief illness our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully passed away. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Jennie and Peter Teplitsky; brothers, Saul, Abe and Moe Teplitsky; sisters, Rose Glass and Ruth Fox and Anne's husbands, Max Narvey and Issac Weinstein. Left to mourn are her children, Bill and Karen Narvey, Chuck and Ruth Narvey, Fred and Marilyn Weinstein, Hymie and Shaaron Weinstein; and her grandchildren to whom she was always lovingly known as Baba Anne - Michael and Sylvia, Sara and Jeff, Jonathon and Sherry, Alexandra, Matthew and Mira, Jennifer and Ian, Rebecca and Wade, Aviva, Tannis and Dudi, Josh and Brenlee, Ronit, Jonathon and Johanna, Darryl, Ricki and Brad, Cory and Sherry; and great-grandchildren, Itai, Issac, Isabella, Ezra, Gavriel, and Carter. Anne was born in Winnipeg, but grew up in small town Saskatchewan working as a salesperson in various stores in Kamsack, Canora, Lannigan and later, Winnipeg, until she married Max Narvey. Together with Max, Anne owned and operated a Mens and Ladies Department store in Melville, SK. Anne continued to operate her store, after Max passed away and raised her two children, Bill and Chuck with the help of her mother, Jennie Teplitsky. After marrying Issac and moving to Winnipeg, Anne developed a close and loving relationship with Issac's two sons, Fred and Hymie. Anne's entire life was about being very involved with her family and she always thrived on the loving devotion and respect of her family and friends. Anne taught her children by example, to always do the right thing and take the high road. She possessed a keen mind and was a good judge of character. Anne was an avid reader and well informed, especially about current events and had a terrific sense of humour, right to the end. Anne lived an exemplary life of dignity, decency, courage, selflessness, generosity, kindness and above all, love. She will be lovingly remembered by all her family and friends who had the good fortune to know and be loved by her. The family wishes to thank the nursing and medical staff of the Seven Oaks Hospital for their exemplary care and compassion. The family also notes with great appreciation the care and friendship of Terri Jansen. Anne was also fortunate to have her lifelong friend, Gerry Baker. Our mother was a blessing, And we were so blessed. For children need their loving parents, Just as Hollywood needs its stars. And the world needs its heroes and, Our mother was and will forever be, All of these and more to us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anne N. Weinstein Fund at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba - Women's Endowment Fund, Telephone 477-7520.
