GLEN ROSAIRE MAIR Glen was born Sunday, November 17, 1968, in Winnipeg, MB. He was a kind, caring, adventurous and hardworking young man. He grew up in Savant Lake, ON. As a child he enjoyed many hours in the bush and on his dad's trapline. He received his high school education in Thunder Bay and Dryden, ON. During the summer he worked in the bush. After high school he moved to Pickle Lake, ON, where he worked on the airlines delivering food and supplies to remote northern communities. He moved to Cormorant in 1990 where he met his wife Sherri. They left for Alberta where they lived for two years. They later returned and settled in Cormorant until the year 2000. He then moved his family to Cranberry Portage so Sherri could continue her education. He resided there until the time of his passing. Glen was a Feller Buncher Operator for the past twelve years. He truly loved his job and took great pride in a job well done. Glen was 24 years old when he took on the most important role in his life - Fatherhood. He loved and honoured his wife, Sherri and his children, Malcolm and Shayla. Everything he did was in their best interest. Family was the number one priority in Glen's life. Glen enjoyed nature and the great outdoors, especially when his family and his dogs, Harley and Maggie, were by his side. Glen loved fishing and hunting. He found comfort and pleasure in Kayaking the northern lakes. He enjoyed working with and preparing wild foods for his family and friends. Glen enjoyed people and shared his knowledge and wisdom of life through his actions and his words. His wit and humour was appreciated and enjoyed by all who knew him. Glen always made people feel special and appreciated; whether it was by teasing them, listening to them or counselling them. Glen was loved and respected by many people. Glen, your physical presence will be missed but always know that your spirit and your life lessons will live on in those that are left SHERRI Glen passed away accidentally, Monday, December 6, 2004, near Cormorant, MB, aged 36 years. Glen is survived by his loving wife Sherri; children, Malcolm and Shayla; his father James Mair Sr.; his mother Corinne Mair; sisters, Maureen (Brad) Fretz, Tracy (Robin) McMillan, Colinda Mair; brothers, John (Linda) Mair, James Mair Jr.; grandmother, Eleanor Fenner; father-in-law Larry Ladouceur; mother-in-law Adrienne Ladouceur; sisters-in-law, Laureen Ladoucer, Andrea (Ashley Wilson) Ladouceur; brother-in-law, Ryan Ladouceur; nieces and nephews, Cheryle Lynn and Mitch Fretz, David McMillan, Colten Mair, Irene and Jasmine Kilbough, Aimie and Tyler Ladouceur, Jordan, Tricia and Denesha Grieves, Ross Smith, Cheyenne Ladouceur; god children, Byron Ladoucer (nephew) and Allison Wilson (niece); and numerous close relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Bill and Sarah Smith, John and Sophie Mair; his sister Colinda Swainy; aunt Helen Focht; uncles, Gilbert Smith, Alex Mair; and cousins, David Focht, Miles Focht. Prayers and visitation were held Thursday, December 23, 2004, 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas led by Rev. Martin Bradbury. The funeral service was held Friday, December 24, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral with Archbishop Peter Sutton, O.M.I. and Rev. Martin Bradbury presiding. Music Ministry was by the OCN Singers. Scripture Readings by Maureen Fretz and Brad Fretz. Memories of the Heart by Gavin Playford. Pallbearers were Walter Genaille, Henry Christie, Ashley Wilson, James Mair Jr., James Focht, Jayson Smith. Honorary Pallbearers were James Mair Sr., John Mair, Brad Fretz, Robin McMillan, Victor Smith, David Smith, Rosaire Smith, Larry Ladouceur, Ryan Ladouceur, Ronald Ladouceur, Alfred Fenner, Steve Beaker, all Glen's Family, Friends, and people he worked with. Following the interment prayers at Cormorant Cemetery, a time of refreshment and fellowship was held at the Cormorant Community Hall. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, in care of arrangements.
