Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM E. LUKE October 24, 1939 - January 2, 2005 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Luke, peacefully, on January 2, 2005 at the age of 65 years. He was predeceased by his wife June in 1982 and his father William in 1972. Bill most recently fulfilled his dream of seeing all his children together again. He leaves behind to be lovingly missed and always remembered, his children, Bill Luke Jr. (Maria), Karen Batista (Tony), Tim Luke (Leanne), Lori Beaudoin (Lyle), Cheryl Wood (Garry); and grandchildren, Danielle, Shawna, Michael, Kristy, Matthew, Taylor, Cole and Cassandra. He is also survived by his mother Clotilde and sister Louise Kerr and family. Also left to mourn their great loss is Bill's best friend and loving companion Mary Dinsmore and family, Tracey (Charlie) and grandchildren, Crystal, Kaitlyn and Emily. Bill was born in Winnipeg, attending Provencher School and Nelson McIntyre Collegiate. He worked for the Firefighter Services at airports in Churchill, Saskatoon and British Columbia. He also worked as a landscaper for many years, returning to Winnipeg in 1987. With his strong willpower and prayer, Bill bravely fought lung disease, determined to face it head on and never let it get him down. It was during his many stays in the hospitals that he met many new friends and though fighting his own, he always had a kind word to say to all, and nominated himself caregiver to his new friends. Our family would like to extend many thanks to the following people: Mary (your love and encouragement kept him strong), Louise (you've helped in so many ways), Ed Guyon and George Marion (laughter and friendship was the best medicine), Dave Brown (best wishes from a friend), the Petrelli family (Eugene, Angelo - God Bless!) Also thank you to Riverview Health Centre, St. Boniface Hospital and Grace Hospital for all the efforts to help him throughout his illness. Ya done Good, Bill darlin, Rest in Peace. Love, your Family At Bill's request no service will be held. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations may be made to the charity of your choice. I'M FREE Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard His call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found the peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys, A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, O yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. I've savoured much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee, God wanted me now. He set me free!
