WALLACE WILLIAM MEMKA March 21, 1945 - January 6, 2005 On January 6, 2005, Wally passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home at the age of 59 years. Wally is survived by his loving wife Zoria; sons, Paul (Kim) and Jeffery; granddaughter Ava Marion; mother Pauline; sisters, Sonia (Joe), Luba and Joanne (George); brother Bob (Irene); and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Peter. Wally was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Point Douglas. After graduation from Tec Voc High School, he became a journeyman electrician. Wally began his career as an electrician in 1972 at the CNR Transcona Shops and retired in 1995. In semi-retirement he ran his own contracting business at Falcon Lake. For the last five years he was the shop maintenance person for Don Vito Autobody. For 20 years he was involved in the Transcona hockey community at various levels. Wally enjoyed helping family and friends any way he could and in particular took pride in helping his sons with their building and renovation projects. Many happy years were spent with the family at the cottage he built at Falcon Lake. The family would like to thank Chris Rollwagen, responding paramedic and family friend, for his help and support during this difficult time. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10 at 12:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wally's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. We can't believe this happened. We thought there were years and years to go. We love you for all the things you always did for us. We will be missing you forever. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
