MARGARET MCCLELLAN Passed away January 7, 2005, at Concordia Place Care Centre in her 96th year, quietly with her son at her bedside. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, James Welford and her daughter, Margaret Elinor (Mestery). She is survived by her loving son, Donald George (wife Norma Joan), grand-daughter Linda Joan (Huseon) and great-grandchildren Melanie Joan (Madell), Stephanie Joan, and Adam David Donald, all of Delta, British Columbia; also by grandson, Richard Donald McClellan (wife Diane) and great-granddaughters Christina Micaela, and Amy Melissa McClellan, and by grandson Bruce Edward James McClellan, and great-grandchildren Angela Kristen, and James Bruce McClellan, all of Ottawa, Ontario. Margaret was an avid curler and a member of West Kildonan Curling Club from 1938. She was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, General Sir Sam Steele Branch from 1935. Margaret served as Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in the mid -1980's. She took an active interest in local politics and worked on the campaign for the first woman mayor of Winnipeg. Margaret was an honourable, hard-working and respected person. Following cremation her remains will be placed with those of her husband in the McClellan niche at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
