ELLIE (ELEANOR) KLASSEN (nee KROEGER) Suddenly on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, Ellie Klassen, beloved wife of Frank and mother of Kayla and David, passed away at the age of 44 years. Besides her family she is survived by, parents Nick and Agnes Kroeger; grandmother Kathe Wiebe; sister Kathy Ott and her husband Bill and their children Justin and Jessica; brother Werner Kroeger and his wife Wilma and their son Nathan as well as her best friend Karen Carey and her family; numerous relatives and friends. Ellie had a gift for working with children and will be sadly missed by her colleagues and students at Sun Valley School. She was dedicated to Christ and enjoyed volunteering in the library and other church activities. Ellie had a generous nature and the instinctive ability to know where there was a need and offered her assistance. She also had a wonderful sense of humour and brought smiles and laughter to the many lives she touched. We rejoice that Ellie is united with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. A celebration of Ellie's life will be held on Tuesday, January 11 at North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway at Springfield Road. Viewing will be held prior to the service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments and fellowship will follow at 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund will be set up for Kayla and David, or a donation may be made to The Sharing Place, 624 Annette St., Toronto, ON M6S 2C4. Dear Frank, Kayla and David, This was sad news to hear of Ellie's death. As Christians we rejoice that she is with Christ and yet know there are times ahead for you three when you'll miss her. Know that there are many who will pray each day for you, me being one of them. Ellie had such a wonderful sense of humour and deep compassion for people. Frank, I'll always remember both of you for the kindnesses you two showed me my first two years at CNC. I will especially pray for you tomorrow night as you celebrate her life. I am so sorry to hear of Ellie's passing. My niece Joy worked with Ellie and spoke very highly of her. I remember when you and she were in the Winnipeg Elmwood Nazarene church (as was David), and you were a CNC student! Ellie always seemed to be a friendly loving people-person. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your children, and family as you begin this significant period of adjustment. May you sense God's loving arms around you at this time, and when you can't feel anything, be assured that He has picked you up and is carrying you. - Posted by: Helen Myers (Friend) on: Jan 10, 2005
