HELEN MASLOVE (WALDMAN) Peacefully on January 10, 2005, Helen Maslove passed away at the Sharon Home at the age of 92 years. She will be sadly missed by all of her family. She was predeceased by her husband Hymie (Harry) Maslove. She is survived by her daughter Adele Wortzman and her husband Arthur; her son Allan Maslove and his wife Marsha; grandchildren, Anita Wortzman (Ron Yurman), Susan Wortzman (John Scurfield) and Jason Wortzman (Teresa Rogers), and Lisa Maslove (Rene Kirkegaard) and David Maslove; and great-grandchildren, Lexie, Haley, Liam, Hannah and Jack. Helen was born in Poland and grew up in Yorkton, SK with her two brothers and sister. She married Harry Maslove in 1933 and they lived most of their early married life in Roblin, MB before moving to Winnipeg in the mid-1970s. Helen had a great love for Palestine, then Israel and supported Israel and many other worthy causes over the years. One of the high points of her life was her trip to Israel. Family always came first to Helen. She demonstrated unconditional love for her family, great pride in their accomplishments and she will always be in our hearts. In recent years Helen has suffered from Parkinson's disease and has lived in the Sharon Home for the last eight years. The family would like to thank the nursing and support staff at the Sharon Home for the years of compassionate care throughout her illness and especially the devotion of her companion, Teresa Kitschke. Donations may be made to the Sharon Home or Care Canada in Helen's memory.
