WILLIAM JAMES KNOWLES William J. Knowles passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on January 10, 2005 at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his parents, Hilda (1934) and Joseph (1974); and eight siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Doris; his four daughters, Verna (Dave McPhee), Shirley (Wayne Hildebrandt), Donna (Bob Miller), Ruth (Jack Gould); ten grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean and Alice (Dave Parker); brother Donald (Ricki); and many more nieces and nephews. He heard the Gospel in a country schoolhouse in southern Saskatchewan and accepted Christ as his personal saviour at the age of 16. He was in fellowship in West End Gospel Hall for 63 years and was involved in many Sunday School activities over the years and in catering for annual bible conferences. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 14 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with viewing at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, a donation in memory of Bill Knowles can be made to the Canadian Bible Society or a charity of their choice.
