EDWIN HARCOURT BERRY Peacefully with family at his side on Sunday, January 9, 2005, at the Lions Prairie Manor, Edwin Harcourt Berry, of Portage la Prairie, beloved husband of Muriel Berry passed away at the age of 87 years. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Friday, January 14 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ross Taylor officiating. Interment will take place in Hillside Cemetery. Edwin was born on December 18, 1917, son of Harcourt and Mary Berry at Reston, MB where he was raised and received his education. On April 12, 1944 he married Muriel Cusack. Together they farmed at Linklater, MB until they moved to Reston. He then managed Co-ops and resided in the communities of MacGregor, Austin, Gladstone, Portage, Kipling and Strathclair. After 26 years with the Co-op he retired and moved to reside in Portage. Ed was an adherent of the Trinity United Church and a member of the Assiniboine Masonic Lodge No. 7 where he received his 50 year Jewel in 2004 and he was a former member of the Lions Club at MacGregor and Strathclair. During his retirement years he enjoyed looking after his yard and garden, travelling extensively to Portugal, Europe, throughout Canada and the United States spending most winters in Victoria, BC. Predeceased by his parents, he leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 60 years, Muriel; son Richard Rick (Kathryn) of Portage, grandsons, Liam, and Dylan; daughter Bonnie (Craig) McKinstry of Killarney, grandson Kyle (Jodi) and great-granddaughter Shae-Lynn, grandson Lindsay (Julie) and great-granddaughter McKenna and granddaughter Reagan; daughter Edwina Winnie (John) Walsh of Portage, grandchildren, Dana and Jaret; daughter Dawn (Neil) Daku of Regina, grandsons, Rhys, Cort and Tait. Also surviving is one brother Boyd Berry of Reston, MB, one sister-in-law Ruth Fraser of Victoria and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made in Edwin's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, P.O.
