RITA DEMCHUK (LAROCQUE)
Date of Passing: Jan 10, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRITA DEMCHUK (LAROCQUE) On Monday, January 10, 2005 a guardian angel came to take mother from us while sleeping peacefully at Concordia Hospital. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Diane (Tom) and Darlene; grandchildren, Sherri (Garner), Corri (Chris), Ryan (Martina), Jason and Candace; great-grandchildren, Dayna, Sierra, Emily and Taylor and husband John. She was born on July 24, 1928 in Richer, MB and was the youngest and last surviving member in a family of 12 sisters and five brothers. In 1941 she moved to Winnipeg to live and work at the nun's residence of the St. Boniface Cathedral. She married John Demchuk in 1948 and was blessed with two daughters. She worked in the restaurant industry for many years and she was especially proud of the more than 20 years she worked at the New Nanking restaurant. Rita was a strong, independent, kind, loving and hard working person. Family was the most important aspect in her life and she unconditionally loved and supported all of her growing family with the arrival of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She battled diabetes and lung disease over the past 25 years and faced these challenges with the same strength and determination she had demonstrated throughout her life and passed on to her family. Her memories will be cherished, she will be sadly missed and always remain in our hearts. A service to celebrate Rita's memory will be held at Wojcik's All Beliefs Faiths Funeral Chapel Crematorium 897-4665.

Losing a mother is very hard. They say time heals all wounds but all it does it make it hurt a little less. Keep her in your heart and she will always be with you. - Posted by: janice golas (Family) on: Jan 22, 2005
