Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROWENA YELLOWBACK April 8, 1965 - January 9, 2005 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend, Rowena Katie Yellowback (nee McKay). She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Archie; daughters, Sheila (Glen), Angela, Sonya, Rachel, Effie; sons, Leonard, Curtis, Winston; grandchild Anna; parents, Philip and Christie McKay; mother-in-law Mary Yellowback; brothers, James (Josephine), Victor, Bernard, Buddy (Emma), Carvin (Marilyn), Michael (Eliza), Gerald (Sarah); sisters, Muriel (Thomas), Stephanie (Jeffrey); adopted brothers, Albert (Clara), Demas (Esola), Barney, Jerry (Netty); adopted sisters, Bonnie (Paul) and Dorothy. There are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Rowena was predeceased by her grandparents, Benjamin and Elizabeth Kirkness, Johnny and Lillian McKay, Henry and Evelyn Kanabee (adopted parents); brother Raymond Kirkness; sister Lisa McKay; father-in-law Jonas Yellowback; uncles, Andrew McKay, Timothy Kirkness, Matthew Kirkness; aunties, Hilda Ross, Margaret James, Salomie Ross, Katie Kirkness, Adelaide Kirkness, Edna Kirkness, Theresa Kirkness; brothers-in-law, Roy Yellowback, Walter Yellowback; sister-in-law Elizabeth Yellowback; nephews, Cody McKay and Dallas White. Prayers were said on Wednesday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg. Wake services will be held on Thursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14 at the residence of Archie Yellowback, God's River, MB. Morning service will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 10:00 a.m. also at the residence of Archie Yellowback with funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the God's River Community Hall with Fr.
