He leaves to mourn Violet, his beloved wife of 62 years; son Larry (Helen) Allwood, grandchildren, Lara-Lea, Christopher, Emily, Erica and Chris; daughters, Marilyn (Paul) Futros, grandchildren, Trevor and Melanie; Laraine Topping, grandchildren, Kevin and Angela; Carrie Trudeau, grandchildren, Adam, David and Correy; Patricia (Warren) Shalay, grandchildren, Kelsey and Taylor; Christine (Dave) Murray, grandchildren, Ilia and Sean; Tanis (Rick) Erhart, grandchildren, Kyle and Nick; sister Vera Preston; great-grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Zachary and Isaac; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Stanley was predeceased by his brother Les (Ruby) Ozenbrook of Toronto. Stanley was born in Winnipeg and in the late thirties began a longtime career of 42 years with the T. Eaton Co. in Winnipeg. In 1942, he wed Violet and shortly thereafter joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served with the R.C.A.F. as an airframe mechanic until the end of The Second World War and then returned to Eaton's and began a career in fur storage later becoming foreman of the fur storage department. In the last few years of his service with Eaton's he took a furniture sales position, which he loved, until his retirement in 1982. Besides his love for his family, he had many interests ranging from biking, to music (he was a talented harmonica player), to repairing almost anything including cars. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, volunteered with the Christmas Cheer Board and supported the Salvation Army. The family expresses a sincere thank you to the staff of Concordia Hospital and Concordia Place for the care provided to Stanley. A special thank you to Stanley's brother-in-law, Ben Hiebert, for his friendship and support to our Dad over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg MB R3C 4G2 or the Salvation Army, 500-55 Donald St., Winnipeg MB R3C 1L8 in his memory would be greatly appreciated.
