Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM KENNETH BARRETT It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of William K. Barrett on Monday, January 10, 2005 at Deer Lodge Centre. Bill was born in Brandon, MB on July 16, 1923 to William Percy Barrett and Flora Constance McLean in St. Marys, ON. William will be lovingly and sadly missed by his wife Marguerita Eleanor (nee Morgan). They were able to share 56 years together. Bill is also survived by his daughter Corinne Ellen and grandson Brayden Samuel; sisters, Bernice McCormack of Edmonton, and Donna Fiala and her husband Ernie of Winnipeg; sisters-in-law, Olive Morgan, Edie Morgan, Crystal Morgan and Anne Craig of Victoria, BC. Bill leaves in sadness a multitude of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours with whom he enjoyed many special memories. Uncle Bill , as he was known by his friends, buddies and children, will be remembered for his kindness, patience and sense of humour. During his stay at summer resorts, he often joked about his three blondes and invited his buddies to come see them after dark - about midnight. Bill was employed by Gaults Ltd. During his young years and in later years, he was employed by U.N. Luggage at 49 Albert Street and enjoyed his many years working for Max and Shirley Guslits until he retired in 1989. Bill was a member of St. James United Church for 57 years. During that time he was appointed to the General Board and also for many years was the treasurer of the church. The family thanks sincerely all the nurses, nurses aides and staff of the Deer Lodge Centre 2 East Wing for their kind, professional and compassionate care of Bill during his stay. A memorial service and celebration of Bill's life will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Flowers gratefully declined.
