HENRY WILLIAM YAKIELASHEK Henry William Yakielashek aged 71 years of Dauphin passed away peacefully at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, January 12, 2005. Henry was born at Fishing River, (Sifton), MB on November 5, 1933, son of Mike and Cassie Yakielashek (nee Demchuk). He received his education at the Fishing River School. Following his education, he worked on the family farm and later worked in Northern Manitoba with C.N. In 1961, Henry was employed with P.F.R.A. and in 1967 became manager of Narcisse Community Pasture until 1993 when he retired and moved to Dauphin. Henry enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and gardening as well as reading and helping others with their farming endeavours. In 1957 at Winnipegosis Henry was united in marriage to Mary Bobinski. Henry was a member of the Knights of Columbus Dauphin Council No. 3497, Dauphin St. Viator's Roman Catholic Church and the Viatorio Club. Henry was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Chris and Alfred. Surviving is his wife Mary of Dauphin; son Philip and wife Nancy of Swan River, MB; two grandsons, Todd and Brett; brothers, Sylvester and wife Hazel of Onanole, MB; Michael and wife Debbie of Castor, AB; and sisters-in-law, Nettie Yakielashek of Winnipeg, MB and Phyllis Yakielashek of Dauphin, MB. The Knights of Columbus will conduct a Rosary on Saturday, January 15 at 12:30 p.m. from the Dauphin St. Viator's Roman Catholic Church. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m. from the Dauphin St. Viator's Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Kevin Smith officiating and interment to follow in the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery. The Knights of Columbus Dauphin Council No. 3497 furnished the Honour Guard. All of Henry's family and friends may consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. Urnbearers were grandsons, Todd and Brett Yakielashek. Naomi Koshowski, Pam Iwanchysko and Dean Yakielashek gave the eulogy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Henry may be made to the Dauphin Regional Health Centre Palliative Care Unit or to the CancerCare Manitoba.
