HAROLD EVANS Suddenly at home on Sunday, January 2, 2005, Harold joined his beloved wife Ethel, who predeceased him in January 1986. He is survived by his sister Lillian Evans; nephew Ralph (Trucia) Howard and family; and niece Elizabeth (Jim) Golden and family. Harold was also predeceased by his parents, Sarah (1930) and Robert Sr. (1970); sister Irene (1953); and brother Robert Jr. (1997). North End Weatherstripping has been Harold's whole life since starting the business in the 50s. At the age of 83, Harold still opened and closed his place of business daily. Harold served in the Korean War and received an honourable discharge in 1953. He was a member for 56 years of the Royal Canadian Legion No. 4. The family would like to give special thanks to the City of Winnipeg Police and Ambulance Services, and great-nephew Drew Howard for their thoughtfulness during this time of special need. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow the service and a private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 would be appreciated.
