Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMYRON MYROSLAW BATULLA April 12, 1923 - December 15, 2004 Myron Myrowslaw Batulla died peacefully on December 15, 2004, with his family by his side, at Health Sciences Centre where he had been since November 7, 2004. Myron was born April 12, 1923, in Winnipeg. He spent his youth and the first 30 years of his married life with Theresa in the North-End. In 1977 they moved to Charleswood. Myron was a member of the Princess Pats Canadian Light Infantry as a Bandsman during the Second World War. Following the war, he worked first as a carpenter at Eaton's and then as a postal clerk with the Post Office where he remained for 35 years until his retirement in 1985. During his life, Myron loved music, dancing, the outdoors and people wherever he was. In his youth he belonged to the Ukrainian Catholic Churches of Sts. Vladimir and Olga and Blessed Virgin Mary. In addition to playing in a variety of bands, on-going carpentry projects and fishing, he always had the time and patience for his three daughters, their entourage of friends, and the never-complete cabin at Grand Beach. Myron always found time for his sons-in-law and grandchildren as well. Friends and family will remember him well for his handyman skills and his good-natured, generous spirit. In his retirement, he also enjoyed the company of the Barbershop Quartet, The Fireside Four and The Happy Homesteaders who entertained at many seniors' homes. Myron is survived by his beloved wife Theresa of 61 years; his daughters, Chris (Bryan) Jefferson, d'Arcy (Jan) Thorsteinson, Barb (Doug) McAndrew; grandchildren, Christopher (fiance Mel) Jefferson, Sandy Jefferson, Brendan and Colin McAndrew; sister Nadia (Norbert) Tycholis; brother-in-law Michael (Irene) Iwasienko; sister-in-law Rose Mary Iwasienko; sister-in-law Daisy Batulla; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Daniel and Mary Batulla; and brother Vladymir. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held. Memorial service will take place 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2005, at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St., with Rev. N. Yakiwchuk officiating. The family would like to express their gratitude to GA5 Ward, Health Sciences Centre, for their care and consideration they showed Dad and the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0L3. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
