GORDON ALFRED LEE We announce with great sadness the death of Gordon Alfred Lee on January 11, 2005. He will be fondly remembered by his wife Pearl; sons, Craig (Nancy) and Terry (Kirsti); granddaughters, Marikka, Morgan and Melissa; sister Rose; brother Tommy; sisters-in-law, Betty and Jean; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Florence; and brothers, Robert, Richmond and Gilbert. He was born in Winnipeg on July 5, 1926. Like many Canadians of his generation, he was a child of the Depression. During the Second World War, he was a member of a Chinese special commando unit in the Canadian Army, serving from 1944 to 1945. Subsequent to his return to Canada, he became part-owner of the Wagon Wheel Cafe, followed by 33 years of employment at Shaw's Dental Laboratory. Funeral service will be held at Bardal Chapel, 843 Sherbrook St., on Monday, January 17 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Lee officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. His lasting legacy will be his family, and the many friends his life enriched. The family greatly appreciates the kindness and consideration of countless friends and relatives, of Drs. Ralph Wong, Ray Singer and Mark Shepherd, nursing coordinator Joanne Mills, of the nurses and health care staff at St. Boniface Hospital (Ward E5 and Palliative Care Unit) and of the homecare nurses (Mariette, Jennifer, Susan and Chris). In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations sent to Cancer Care Manitoba or to the Palliative Care Unit, St. Boniface Hospital. Pearl (mother!), it was with great sadness that Anne and I learned of Gordon's passing. Unfortunately I missed it in the weekend paper and just found out a few minutes ago (Monday @13:05 hrs. Gordon always had that great smile for everyone and I know he will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure to meet him. I pray that you and the boys are OK. Should you need anything, do not hesitate to give me a call. Love & Best Wishes from Trevor & Anne - Posted by: Trevor Lawless (Friend) on: Jan 17, 2005
