JOANNE MARIE BOHEMIER I had a dream I was moving forward Floating gently to the sun I've come to see my world rewarded A new day has begun - Great Big Sea Joanne lived her life with meticulous passion, enthusiasm, joie de vivre and independence. This is also the way she chose to fight cancer. On Thursday, January 13, 2005, Joanne passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 47 years. She was predeceased by her beloved father Florent in 1994. She will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her mother, Claire (nee Marcoux); brothers, Ron, Claude (Cathy), Gerald, Bob; nieces, Cathy Rose (Darrell), Joy Denyer (Neil), Michelle, Reta Mitton (Ray); and nephew Dan (Tara). She was also a GREAT aunt to Matthew, Sharlee and Lauren Rose, Cara and Anne Denyer, Alicia, Riley and Andrew Mitton. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives, especially Gisele Hooper, Diane Savoie, Jeanette and Allan Rose. Joanne was born May 3, 1957 (Daddy's little girl) at St. Boniface Hospital. Joanne grew up in St. Vital attending school at St. Emile, St. Boniface Diocesan High, and later attending Marvel Beauty School where she found one of her life's passions. One of her greatest achievements was owning and operating Joanne's Hair Studio for the past 17 and one half years. Joanne was always very creative and talented in areas such as, sewing, home decorating, and gardening. Later she discovered her artistic side through oil painting. Four years ago, a little bundle of joy found her way into Joanne's life and heart. She will be missed by her beloved dog Suzie . The family extends their thanks to Dr. Marianne Krahn, Dr. Tan and Dr. Ahmed, nurse Heather Davies, the home care workers and nurses (especially Geoff and Roberto), the nurses and doctors of wards 5B and 5E at St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 17 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Emile Church, 556 St. Anne's Rd. There will be a gathering of friends and family in the parish hall after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba (research), ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy.
