ERNEST KOSTIUK December 7, 1929 - December 23, 2004 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, we announce the passing of our dearly beloved husband and father on Thursday, December 23, 2004, at Concordia Hospital. Ernest was born in Rosthern, SK, the second youngest of five children. He moved with his family to Winnipeg at an early age and settled in the North End, attending Strathcona and Issac Newton Schools. Ernest was employed with Air Canada, ultimately retiring in 1989 as Commissary Supervisor after 35 years. He was a longtime member of Holy Eucharist Parish. Left to cherish Ernest's memory are his wife Ollie; son Michael; brother Bob (Marion) and family; sister Lillian Jones of Edmonton and her family; brother-in-law George Stefanou and family of New York, U.S.A. He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary; and sadly since Ernie's demise Ollie's sister Millie has joined him in Heaven. The family would like to thank Dr. Caners and the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 18 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Munroe Avenue at Watt Street, with Fr. D. Kawiuk officiating.
