THOMAS DAVID OHRYN June 4, 1962 - January 6, 2005 Little Tom was born in Swan River, MB, Canada and raised in Gillam, MB where it was apparent that he had an extraordinary love of life. Tom's search for adventure lead him to a career in diving and he found his passion. Tom loved diving, the jobs, the people he met and the challenges that it provided. Tom worked around the world and his sense of humour, mischievous nature and dedication to his craft earned him life-long friends wherever he went. In 1997, Tom met Sarah, the love of his life and he settled in Portland, OR where Katryna and Caleb were born. A patient, devoted and fun-loving husband and Daddy, Tom's family was the focus of his life. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sarah and their children, Katryna (5) and Caleb (3); parents, Ernie and Verna Ohryn; sister Lori Ohryn and her husband Byron; sister Lynn Erin and her partner Steve Knowlton; nephew Tyler Lawtey and a myriad of friends from around the world. We will miss Tom's compassion, generosity, laughter and the twinkle in his eye. A celebration of Tom's life was held at the Little Chapel of the Chimes on January 12, 2005 in Portland, OR. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for the care of Tom's children to: Katryna and Caleb Ohryn - Account 00050 2410036 at any branch of the CIBC.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • my heart felt condolences to tom's family I worked with tom on a few diving jobs and spent time with him up at Riding mountain where he convinced me to enter a ice fishing derby which I won the cash prize. thanks tom. But the real joy was diving together, I shared many gulfshore stories, and he couldn't wait to get to the big deep, I hope he found the passion he so rightfully deserved. - Posted by: scott lucas (old diving friend) on: Nov 09, 2012
