ANNE VIRGINIA WOROBEC (nee PERRY) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Anne Worobec, on January 16, 2005 at the Tuxedo Villa Extendicare Personal Care Home. Anne is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Fisher (John) and Betty Worobec (David Huebert); her grandchildren, Robert, Emily, Kathryn, Sarah and Elena; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Beth Pedora, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Anastasia and Ignatius Pidhorodecki; half-sisters, Mary Balak and Albina Balabuck; and her husband Michael Worobec. Anne was born on March 28, 1924 in Winnipeg, MB and resided in Beaudry, Headingley, and Winnipeg before moving to Portage la Prairie in 1952 where she remained for 40 years before moving back to Winnipeg to be closer to her grandchildren. She was trained as a Registered Nurse at the St. Boniface Hospital, graduating in 1949, and worked for many years at the Portage General Hospital. When in Portage, Anne was very active in the community and a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Assumption Parish and the Beta Sigma Pi Society. Nancy and Betty would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Tuxedo Villa for their wonderful, caring support. In keeping with Anne's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 1531 Pembina Hwy. 284-7500
