She was the eldest in the family; her father was a section foreman on the CPR so the family got to live in several towns in Manitoba. Her father's love of music saw to it that she received piano accordion lessons. After finishing grade VIII in school, Lillian went to work in Winnipeg, including working for private homes; the Keller family moved to Arnes where Lil met and married Steve Sigurdson. While married to Steve, Lil cooked at their fishing camps up north and later at the Arnes dock camp with her sister Mary. From an early age Lil provided the accordion music for many to dance to in Manitoba halls and homes; Lil and Boys enjoyed their time as members of the Silvertones band at the Gimli New Horizons and bowling together at Gimli. Lil and Boys Marks were married June 29, 1980 and would have celebrated their 25th anniversary this year. Lillian has requested a cremation; her ashes will be interred beside Boys', Sunday, July 3 at the Arnes Cemetery and a celebration of her life will take place at the Arnes Hall at 2:00 p.m. that day. Pastors Michael Cone and Stewart Marks will officiate at the interment. Everyone is welcome at this interment service as well as at the memorial service. Lil's memorial service will take place at the Gimli Lutheran Church (3rd St.) Saturday, January 22 at 2:00 p.m. Lunch will follow in the church basement; handicapped accessibility. Lil acted out her faith by supporting several charities. He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. Proverbs 14:31 Please remember to support your favourite charities. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
