MARY LOEWEN We celebrate the life of our mother and grandmother, Mary Loewen (nee Reimer), of Steinbach, who went into Glory to meet her Saviour Jesus on January 16, 2005. She was predeceased by her husband John D. Loewen on July 7, 1994; and her daughter-in-law Susie on October 12, 1985. She is survived by her six sons and one daughter, John (Judi), Peter (Lorraine), Ben (Kathy), Harry (Julia), Gerald (Terri), Eldon (Tammy), Marianne (Rob); and her 16 grandchildren, Dylan Tyson; Whitney; Sean (Stacey), Selena, Nicholas, Craig; Carmen, Hannah, Matthew; Adam; Miriel, April; Sharaya, Simeon and Adrian. Mary was born on March 25, 1931, in rural Manitoba to her parents Peter and Kathrina Reimer. She was predeceased by her parents; brother Jacob; sisters, Susanna, Martha and Elizabeth. Surviving her are her sister Katherine; and her brothers, Ben, Peter and David. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the medical staff at St. Pierre and Bethesda Hospitals for the care she received. Mary's earlier years had the health and energy to establish a loving home and build a strong Christian heritage by example of her tremendous faith in Jesus Christ. The family has been blessed with her legacy of music and worship that she lived and gave to the Glory of God. This faith has inspired her family and all those who were privileged to have met her. We will pass on the Flame. Viewing will be held Tuesday, January 18 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 8:00 p.m. The funeral will take place Wednesday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, 422 Main St., Steinbach, MB. Interment at Heritage Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Siloam Childcare International, 106-1656 Martin Dr., Box 199, Surrey, BC V4A 6E7, a mission that Mary supported.
