HELENA HOLIK Peacefully, on Sunday, January 16, 2005, Helena Holik (nee Palac) passed away at Victoria Hospital at the age of 77. She was predeceased by her husband Bazyli in 1993. Her parents, Jan and Jozefa and sisters, Maria, Stasia and Anna, also predeceased her. Loving mother of Henry, Edward and Andrew, she will also be missed by her daughters-in-law, Pamela and Kathy along with her loving grandchildren, Sabrina, Brittany, Melissa, Nicholas, Stefan and Adam. Her many nieces and nephews will also miss her. Born in Bucyki, Poland in 1927, she was, with her family, sent to Russia during the Second World War, and after being released, she lived in Tanganyika territory, Africa as a war refugee. With her family, she immigrated to Canada in 1949, and eventually settled in Winnipeg. There she met her husband and raised her three sons. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 255 Stafford St. with Rev. Fr. Joseph C. Johnson, S.J. presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helena's memory to the Victoria Hospital, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, R3T 9Z9. We will always remember Mom for her strength and determination, her love for her family, and her faith in God. Her family, friends and neighbours will miss her terribly. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

Dear Henry, Kathy & Family: It is with great sadness we convey our heartfelt condolences to you in the loss of your Mother/Grandmother. Also, our apologies in not attending the memorial mass as we were notified only this day of your mother's obit in the Free Press. We trust you and your family will be surrounded by love at this time, but also hope our sincere wishes help ease some of the sorrow. Mike and I feel badly we've not kept in touch over the years. Take care & God Bless. - Posted by: Mike & Joanne Boychuk (Friend) on: Jan 20, 2005
