Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID ANDREW SWAN December 16, 1935 - January 18, 2005 David Swan, beloved husband of Eloriana, after a brief illness, at the Health Sciences Centre. David was born and raised in Winnipeg, attending Queenston, Robert H. Smith and Kelvin High School. Following his careers in banking and real estate, he and Eloriana established their own business, Creditaid, where he worked until his illness. David was a humanitarian who constantly challenged injustice and championed the underprivileged. He hated hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty and always struggled to learn about issues so that his opinions could be based on solid thought. He had a fine analytical mind, loved golf, Bridge, his Rotary involvement, and spending time with his family at home and at his much loved Hillside Beach cottage. David was a warm and loving person who shared wonderful anecdotes of his life experiences that both grandchildren and adults loved to hear. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his family, his many friends and all who knew him. David was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Pearl Swan. He is survived by his wife Eloriana; his step family, daughters, Linda, Bernadine and Alexandra Burgess, grandchildren, Ben (Jamie), Melissa, Jason, Dustin, Ariel, and Robert. Also his sister Helen Black (Keith); nieces, Nancy Edmond (Paul) and Andrea Powell (Geoffrey); sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan and George Matheos, their family David (Darlene), Dimetro, Pavlo and Sarrando (Anita); and son-in-law of 20 years Gerry Dorge. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 21, at 2:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Church, 603 Wellington Cres. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Amnesty International or Greenpeace. THOMSON Funeral Home - 669 Broadway - 783-7211

My heart aches for the loss of the kindest co-employer and the best friend and adviser anyone could ever be fortunate enough to have. The memorable sound of his laughter and his sometimes witty and always entertaining stories will be sorely missed. David's loving family are also in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Edna Topolnitsky (Friend) on: Jan 24, 2005
