ANN LABCHUK Peacefully on January 17, 2005, at Concordia Hospital, Ann passed away at the age of 72 years. Ann leaves to mourn her sisters, Mary (Myrs) Kubas of Fisher Branch, Pauline (Bill) Kartushyn of Calgary and brother Steve (Sadie) of Charlottetown; sisters-in-law, Denise of Calgary, Helen and Florence of Winnipeg, and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her father John; mother Katryna; her brothers, Metro, Bill, Walter, Mike and wife Irene; and sister-in-law Gloria. Ann was born in Fisher Branch, MB on February 16, 1932. She spent her childhood there and moved to Winnipeg after she finished school. She was employed by the City of East Kildonan, and then moved to the Northwest Territories, then to Calgary. Upon retirement she returned to Winnipeg. Ann enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on holidays and special occasions. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and bowling. Thank you to the staff on the third floor of Concordia Hospital for the compassion and caring they showed Ann in her final weeks. Special thanks also to Debbie, her niece who was always there when Ann needed her. A memorial service for Ann will be held Friday, January 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Rev. Alan Armstrong officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
