ROLF LOCHNER On Sunday, January 16, 2005, Rolf, aged 70 years died at the Grace Hospital. Rolf was born in Stuttgart, Germany to Karl and Margareta Lochner. He immigrated to Canada in 1959 and lived and worked in Winnipeg. He met Elma Warsaba and they married in 1969 in Vancouver, BC. Returning to Winnipeg, Rolf worked until retirement as a machinist for Versatile Equipment. Rolf and Elma spent many happy years, they travelled to Alaska and Germany and saw much of Canada. Rolf loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was happiest at the cottage at Lac du Bonnet and spent most of his time there after Elma's death in 2003. Rolf will be greatly missed by his family, Douglas and Mary Warsaba, Elaine and Bernice Schmidt; grandchildren, David and Tammy Schmidt, Sandra and Kelly Holben, Mark and Kathryn Warsaba, Paula Warsaba and Charlie Lye, Adam and Erin Warsaba; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Meagan Holben. Funeral service will be held from Doyle's Funeral Chapel in Carman on Saturday, January 22 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Catherine Waldie officiating. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
