Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE JOHNSON (nee GERES) Peacefully on January 16, 2005, Rose passed away at the age of 88. Thankful for her life and memories is her family, Byron, her husband of 68 years; son Don (Patti); daughter Bev (Les) Gillam; grandchildren, Todd (Tamara) Gillam; Scott (Charlene) Gillam and precious great-grandchildren, Ruby and Parker Gillam. Rose was born on March 15, 1916 in Gretna, MB where she grew up. She married Byron in 1936. They began their life together in Letellier, later moving to Dauphin and then to Winnipeg. Mom loved to knit, sew, crochet and do needle point. We all have enjoyed the results of her talents. Rose was an avid curler and golfer and had many fond memories of her years spent with the Tuesday Harbour View Ladies. Special thanks to Dr. Gwozdecki at the Lakeview Medical Centre, to Dr. Fine at St. Boniface Hospital and to Dr. Braun and all the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for the care and kindness given to Rose. In keeping with Mom's wishes, a private family service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, a donation to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3M 2K8 may be made in Rose's name.

I was a Health Care Aide who was briefly employed at the Maples Care Home. I was saddened to learn of the death of Rose, as I remember her. On at least two occasions during suppertime, I assisted Rose with her feeding, and remember what a kind and friendly person she and Byron were. She was someone I enjoyed talking to. It is with my sincerest sympathy that I am sorry for her family's loss. I was honored to have met Rose and Byron. - Posted by: Linda Sear (Acquaintance) on: Jan 22, 2005
