WINNIFRED FRANCIS AVERY (McGIBBON) (nee BAILES) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Winnie Avery of Winnipeg, Manitoba, on January 15, 2005, at Victoria General Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sister Margaret Payne; brother Norman and sister-in-law Pauline Bailes; nephew Alan and wife Judy Bailes; nephew Paul and wife Linda Bailes; nephew Richard and wife Velvet Bailes of Vancouver, BC; stepdaughter Eileen and husband Bob Sweigert of Mission Veijo, California; stepdaughter Joan and husband Bob Durnin of Homeland, California; and her many grandnieces, grandnephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Winnie was predeceased by her mother and father Clara and Ernest Bailes, husbands Charles Avery and Jack McGibbon, and brother-in-law David Payne. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place in Winnipeg later this year. Winnie was an employee of Eaton's in Winnipeg for 25 years, a member of St. Judes and St. Patricks Anglican churchs, Winnipeg, and Trinity Episcopal Church, Escondido, California. She will be fondly remembered as an enthusiastic church choir member and an accomplished soloist. The family wishes to thank the medical staff of Victoria General Hospital and care givers at Garden House of Rosewood Village for their compassionate treatment of Winnie during her stay in their facilities. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association (629 McDermot, Winnipeg MB R3L 1P6) or The Winnipeg Humane Society (5 Kent St., Winnipeg MB).
