HILDA MARY MUNTON (nee PHELPS) Hilda Mary Munton died in Victoria, BC on January 18, 2005. Hilda was born in 1910 in Saskatoon, then lived briefly in Calgary before her family moved to Winnipeg where she spent her formative years. She had a lovely singing voice and was active in school music productions at Daniel McIntyre High School. In 1932 she married C. Frank Munton and they lived in Transcona, MB, moving to the west coast in 1969 after two years spent touring around Europe. On the coast they lived in White Rock before coming to Victoria in the mid-seventies. Hilda's interest in music enriched her life. As well as performing in high school musical productions she was a member of the Sweet Adelines in White Rock, and she attended musical performances and concerts wherever she was. She was predeceased in 1983 by her husband Frank; and will be lovingly remembered by her son John Munton (Barbara); daughter Joan Donaldson; grandchildren, Laura, David, Murray and Deborah and her great-grandchildren, Christopher, Brendon, Travis and Dana. Her family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Hill Villa for their very kind care and attention.
