SUSANA VASS (nee VARJU) January 28, 1904 - January 19, 2005 Peacefully, after a brief illness, it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Susana at the Oakview Place Nursing Home, on Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at the age of 100 years. Remaining to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Irena Meda (Joe) and Eva Reeves (Bill); grandchildren, Beverly, Darren (Julie), Chris, Susan, Phylis Larocque (Gui) and John; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Susana was predeceased by her husband John and grandson Alan. Susana emigrated from Yugoslavia in 1927 to Canada with her husband John. She and her husband lived in Saskatchewan for a short while on a farm and then moved to Winnipeg. Susana was a housewife and enjoyed gardening and her flowers around her house. A private funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Blvd. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. Our family would like to thank the staff at Oakview Place Nursing Home for the care of our beloved Mom and the compassion shown in the last days of her life.
