ALICE PARADIS (nee REMILLARD) It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved mother, Alice Paradis, left this world peacefully with family and friends at her side on January 21, 2005. She now joins our dad, her beloved husband, Edmond, who predeceased her in 1987. Mom was born in 1920 at Ste. Anne, MB, where she was raised and educated. She met Edmond there, and they later married. They moved to Montreal during war time, and after the war, moved back to Manitoba where they farmed. They later moved to Winnipeg and raised four children. Alice worked most of her life at St. Boniface Hospital, and later at St. Boniface College, from where she retired in 1986. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing cards, going to the lake and fishing. She hated to milk cows! She leaves to mourn her son Dennis and daughter-in-law Gwen; daughter Linda and son-in-law John, of Florida; daughter Irene and son-in-law Dan; daughter Sylvia and son-in-law Wally; granddaughter Karen (Brian), grandson Casey (Wendy), granddaughter Valerie (Chris), and grandsons, Edward and Shalye; great-grandchildren, Mugzie, James, and Alyssa, from Florida, Dillon, Dennis, and Rebeca. She is also survived by one sister, Rita, of Ste. Anne. She was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. Funeral mass will take place on Thursday, January 27, at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers are Edward Paradis, Casey Jones, Chris Thomson, Dan Danchak, Wally Friedrick, and Edmond Manaigre. The family would like to thank all the staff on the fifth floor of the Tache Nursing Home for their loving care of our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
