HENRY ALEXANDER BREMNER On Friday, January 21, 2005, after an incredible life of 93 years, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Henry Alexander Bremner, better known as Alex to his friends and Pop to his family. With his sons, Wayne and Larry and spouses, Laurie and Marie at his side, Alex left us to rejoin his wife, Ethel of 58 years. He leaves behind his sons, Wayne (Laurie) and Larry (Marie); grandchildren, Bill (Angela), Charlene (Rob), Ben, Eric, Shohn (Kerry) and Jeff (Krissy); great-grandchildren; as well as his sister Myrtle; brothers, Bill and Bruce (Wanda); and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Alex was predeceased by his wife Ethel; his parents, Henry and Florence; and brothers, Vincent and Arnold. Alex was born on February 2, 1911, and raised in Headingley, MB, but moved to Winnipeg where he worked and lived with his family. His work history included working for Coca Cola, owning a grocery store, and working until retiring at Eatons. After retiring he continued on at various places until he finally left the work force at the age of 80 years. In his earlier years, he was an avid curler, enjoyed hunting and fishing and looked forward to the annual family vacations. Later, still driving at 93, he made weekly visits to see his sister Mrytle and various other family members and friends. His other activities included his love for gardening, watching the birds and squirrels, doing his word search puzzles, and he never missed his nights of wrestling. Henry's funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 29 at 1:00 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 5335 Portage Ave., Headingley, MB, with Rev. Richard Condo officiating. Internment will take place at a later date. Our thanks go out to the nursing staff in the Observation Unit of the Grace General Hospital for their care and kindness, as well as the ICU Staff of the St. Boniface General Hospital.
