WALTER LUPRYPA 1924 - 2005 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Walter Luprypa on January 24, 2005. Walter was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is predeceased by his mother Annie (1984); his father John (1984); and his brother Eugene (1973). Walter leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years, Anne; sons, Danny, Barry (Aileen), and Alvin; sister Leona MacDonell (Joe); grandchildren, Samara, Tabitha, and Danny-Jo; sister-in-law Matilda, and many nieces and nephews. Walter left a wonderful legacy. He had an enterprising and creative spirit, unafraid to take chances in both business and life. His contributions to the community of Gimli include: volunteer firefighter, Town Councillor, Kinsmen member, Chamber of Commerce, Legion member, New Horizons, and The Gimli Oldtimers. Walter was a gifted carpenter, talented musician, innovative mechanic and an avid hunter and outdoorsman, always willing to help, teach, and learn. Through his wonderful sense of humour and sense of family, he touched many lives. He will leave a lasting memory on all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 28, at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, MB, with Fr. Art Seaman officiating. In lieu of flowers, and if friends so desire, donations in Walter's memory may be made to the Down's Syndrome Society of MB, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M5, or a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.

  • Our deepest sympathies to the families of Walter. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of great sadness. - Posted by: David & Marilyn Robinson (Acquaintance) on: Jan 28, 2005

  • Dear Anne and Family, We were very sorry to hear of your loss. The write up on Walter fit him to a T, except the fact that he wanted to start up a horse-shoe pitch club in Ft. McMurry. Thinking of you with sympathy and caring. Love Deloris & Roy - Posted by: Roy & Deloris Kozak (Friend) on: Jan 26, 2005
