LJUBICA CVITKO

LJUBICA CVITKO was born October 1, 1942 in the village Mrkopalj, found in Gorski Kortar, Croatia, to Katarina and Stjepan Crnic. They gave her seven siblings to contend with, Stefica, Marica, Ivanka, Gurdjica, Nada, Sofia and Branko. She immigrated to Winnipeg with her daughter Suzanne and became a Canadian citizen. She married Mate and had two more children Joe and Katarina. She always enjoyed cooking, gardening and dancing, and in her later years grew friendships at the Riverborne Senior Complex. She battled with cancer from September 2003 up to the end of her life where she died peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre on January 24, 2005. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Catholic Church, 2688 Main St., with internment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A heartfelt thank you to the many individuals who cared for her and spent many hours with her: the staff at CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface Hospital and Riverview Health Centre.
