HERBERT NEWELL February 1, 1922 - January 24, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Herbert Newell on January 24, 2005. Dad was born in Darlington, England on February 1, 1922 to Arthur George Newell and Margaret Ellen Knott. He was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy Elise Newell (nee Milne) on May 20, 1995; sisters, Edith, Norah, Ellen, Mary; brothers, Robert Arthur and George Elliot. He is survived by his sister Jennie; daughter Dianne (Len) Lebrun; grandsons, Scott, Marc (Winona), Paul; great-grandson Auckland; and son Robert (Karen). His most endearing qualities were his honesty, integrity, caring and the respect he had for all people. We only hope we can give others the opportunity he gave to us. Thanks to the staff at Grace Hospital for their caring during Dad's final days. Rest in peace Dad. Love, your family. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 29 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, Dad has requested that friends make a donation to the charity of their choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca

  • Surprised and sad to learn (at Burger King)just today that we lost Bert. He was a fine man to meet at the coffee shop. Just wish I had known more of Bert's background - we could have expanded the content of our many pleasant chats. He always kept his car so nice - the last comment I made to Bert was that his wheels were dirty and this he considered as to just where the comment came from. Rest in peace good buddy - till we meet in the next coffee shop. - Posted by: Harold McCort (Friend) on: Jan 31, 2005
