WINONA EDWARDS It is with sadness we announce the passing of our dear friend and neighbour, Winona Edwards, on January 18, 2005 at the Grace Hospital. Winona was born on June 12, 1919 in Winnipeg, MB. She was predeceased by her mother, father and her twin sister Opal Edwards. Winona worked for CN/CP until her retirement. For many years Opal and Winona figure skated across North America as the Edward Twins . Their duet presentations have been long remembered by many. Skating was their passion, until Opal was stricken with MS and Winona was left to care for her and her mother. In Winona's later years her neighbour and good friend Della Olsen was her constant care giver and companion. Winona was a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church and will be sadly missed by her church friends as well as her neighbours. A funeral will be held on Friday, January 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 256 Smith St., Winnipeg, MB. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 256 Smith St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1K1, the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or to a charity of your choice.
