DOREEN LECLAIR Peacefully, on January 25, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer, our beloved wife, mother and Grandma D passed away at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 77 years. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 57 years, Oliver; and their five children, Laurie (Dorothy), Kristine Bunkowsky (Brian), Carol Anseeuw (George), Tim (Sharon), and Jennifer Bodnarchuk (Deryck). She was a very special grandma to nine grandchildren, Derek (Christine), Joel (Melissa), Faye (Bryan), Jill (Jason), Lisa (Brent), Caren (Geoff), Marc (Lisa), Brett and Sara and a super great-grandma to 10 great-grandchildren, Chase, Austin, Samantha, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Tayla, Matthew, Kyle, Jennifer and Oliver. She may be out of our arms, but she'll never be out of our hearts. She will be sadly missed by brothers, Ernie (Judee) and Kenny; sisters, Peggy and Gwen (Wilfred); as well as many other family and friends. Her parents, Charlie and Phyllis Karlowsky; and siblings, Ronald, Jimmy, Lily and Gordy predeceased her. Mom was born on January 3, 1928, and was raised on the family farm in Brunkild, MB. She married our Dad on October 25, 1947. Mom had many interests including curling, playing ball, golfing, doing crossword puzzles, singing and playing cards. She was very proud of having volunteered 18 years at the Victoria General Hospital gift shop. She will be remembered for her hearty laugh and sparkle in her eyes. The family would like to thank Mom's many friends at Summerland Apartments, her co-volunteers at the gift shop, and the staff at the Victoria General and St. Boniface General Hospitals for their care and kindness. A special thank you to Art and Margaret and Pastor Kolleen for all their support. In accordance with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or a charity of your choice. We'll never forget our mother's face, The sound of her voice, The gentleness of her touch; They let us know we were loved. We'll never forget The stories she told, The traditions she handed down... They let us know who we are. We'll never forget The lessons she taught, The things she stood for... They are her gift and our legacy. We'll never forget, And we'll always know That we honour her every day In how we live And who we are. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 1531 Pembina Hwy 284-7500
