Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD JAMES BLOOMER Peacefully, Edward James Bloomer passed away on January 24, 2005, at the age of 88 at the Calvary Place Personal Care Home. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Graham (Allison) Bloomer; his daughter Debbie Grant-Elliot (Kerry); his grandchildren, Stephen, Tracy (Nick) and Heather and great-grandson Marco. Edward was predeceased by his wife Margaret on January 24, 2001; and son-in-law Kerry Grant June 20, 2001. Edward was born August 31, 1916, in Winnipeg, brought up in the West-end attending Mulvey and Gordon Bell schools. Edward's business life was very full. He purchased Electric Heating and Manufacturing Co. Ltd. in 1946 and shortly thereafter amalgamated with James B. Carter Co. Ltd. (now known as Phillips and Temro Industries Ltd.) becoming vice-president. He was also in management at Bristol Aerospace Ltd. He enjoyed life at his cottage at Pelican Bay in the summer, was a snowbird in the winter at his condo on the gulf in Naples, FL. He enjoyed golf, boating and fishing in the backwaters of Florida and exploring the Everglades. He was a member of the Carleton Club, Elmhurst Golf and Country Club, Manitoba Electrical Association and Canadian Standard Association. Edward will be remembered by his family and friends as a very hardworking, loyal husband, father and grandfather with a sense of humour. He will be dearly missed. I'm Free Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me, I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all, I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys, A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with time of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full; I've savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your head and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free. His family especially wishes to thank 2nd floor staff at the Calvary Place Personal Care home for the special care they provided for him over the past several years. In keeping with Edward's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba 204-825 Sherbrook St.
